Not only is the title race, top four and relegation battle going down to the final day of the Premier League season, but so is the quest for the Golden Boot.

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is currently at the top of the charts with 22 goals, but close behind him is Tottenham’s Heung-min Son with 21, and the red-hot South Korean has been backed to claim the crown with a late flurry.

Betfair currently have Salah as the 4/9 favourite to pick up his third top scorer gong, with Son priced at 6/4.

However, the Liverpool forward missed Tuesday’s crucial win over Southampton with an injury he picked up against Chelsea in the FA Cup final, meaning he could miss their final day clash with Wolves.

Son, on the other hand, will be travelling to Norfolk as Spurs face already relegated Norwich in a game they have to win or draw to secure a place in the top four.

The Canaries – the first team to face the drop this term – have conceded the most goals in the division this season, and former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor fancies the South Korean to pip Salah to the prize.

When asked who he thinks will win the Golden Boot, Agbonlahor told talkSPORT Breakfast: “I think Son, because I don’t think Salah will play.

“With his groin injury, I think Klopp will say to him, ‘I don’t care about the Golden Boot. I care about getting three points and you being fit for the Champions League final’.

“[Antonio] Conte might be the same, but I don’t think Mo Salah will play.

“With Son, they’re playing Norwich away, a lovely, nice last game of the season – I see Son and Spurs hitting three, four or five past Norwich.”

As Agbonlahor said, Liverpool have bigger things to worry about than who wins the Golden Boot, knowing a win against Wolves and Manchester City failing to win against Aston Villa will secure them the title.

Then their focus will move onto another Champions League final and a chance of revenge against Real Madrid in Paris – where Salah will be desperate to hit back after he was forced out of their 2018 showdown.
