I’d call it likely, honestly. Even if recovery’s gotten a lot better recently, he’s at the age where basically any major injury significantly hurts your athleticism long-term, and rehab still is an involved process if your goal is to get back to NBA-level conditioning. After all that, his light at the end of the tunnel is…a vet min level contract if we’re being generous? No team’s going to take more of a chance than that on a 36 year old role player who’s just missed a season due to injury. Seems like a pretty shitty motivator for a guy who’s made $90M in his career and has all the rings he realistically could ask for.

Certainly hope I’m wrong, though.
