Man Utd move for French striker
Football Transfer Centre

Manchester United have made an enquiry for Reims striker Hugo Ekitike, according to ESPN.

The Red Devils are planning to sign two new strikers this summer and Ekitike has emerged as a potential transfer target.

The 19-year-old only made his breakthrough this term, but has impressed with 10 goals and three assists from 23 games.

He has been out injured since February with a hamstring concern, but United are still keen on pushing through a deal.

They are willing to meet Reims’ asking price of £13m, but are set to face stiff competition for his services this summer.

Bayern Munich are keeping a close eye on his situation while Arsenal and Newcastle United are also in the running.

The Magpies attempted to sign him during the January transfer window, only for Reims to decide against his departure.

The decision has not worked out as planned with the striker having picked up a hamstring injury within a few weeks.
