Stefanos Tsitsipas remains the player to beat in 2021 after winning the Open Parc Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes Lyon title over Cameron Norrie 6-3, 6-3 on Sunday.
The 22-year-old Greek improves to 33-8 on the year, extending his lead over Andrey Rublev (29) for the most wins on the ATP Tour. It marks Tsitsipas’ second title of the season after winning his first ATP Masters 1000 crown in Monte-Carlo. It is his seventh tour-level triumph overall, and he maintains a perfect record in ATP 250 finals with five matches and ten sets won.
Norrie was seeking his first ATP Tour title after coming close in Estoril where he lost a third-set tie-break to Albert Ramos-Vinolas. Sunday marked the 25-year-old Brit’s first meeting with Tsitsipas.
